Our Tradition

My family does not celebrate Thanksgiving.  What we do instead is either go to a party or have a party at our house.  We eat chicken instead of turkey.  I am thankful for my sister because she helps me and plays with me.  Without her I would not have anybody to play with.  Another thing I am thankful for is my parents.  I am thankful for my mom because she makes me dinner.  I am thankful for my dad because he helps me with my homework. These are some things I am thankful for.

What I Know About Thanksgiving I Learned in Kindergarten

This is what I know about the first Thanksgiving.  The Pilgrims were the first to celebrate Thanksgiving.  They sailed here on the Mayflower.  They arrived on the left part of the United States.  I learned that when I was in first grade and kindergarten.  I learned most of it in kindergarten.

The First Thanksgiving

To me Thanksgiving is about the Pilgrims that went on the Mayflower.  They saw the Native Americans.  The Native Americans taught the Pilgrims how to plant and hunt for food. One of those Native Americans was named Squanto.  They decided to have a big feat.  They called it Thanksgiving.  That's how Thanksgiving was born.

Thank you, World!

I am thankfuol for the world.  Why, you might ask me. Well, what do you think?  I am thankful foor the world because trees help us breather.  The world is our home.  The earth gives us food.  The earth gives us our pets.  What are you thankful for?

The Important Thing About Thanksgiving

The point of Thanksgiving is to give thanks to God.  A long time ago, people from England were helped by the Native Americans.  They celebrated with loads of food.  They called it Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving means thanks and giving.  God gave me a home, clothes, knowledge, education, toys, games, books....etc. So, I thank Him.  I feel grateful because God lovoes me by giving me a home, family, and a great mother and father.  To thank God, I give stuff to the poor like toys, food, clothes, money, etc. I feel great for helping the poor.  I think the poor feel very help.  My family and I plan to give bags of food to help the poor on this Thanksgiving. My dad will buy the food and then my sister, brother and I will help separate it into bags and baskets.  When we are all done, we load them in the car and deliver them to the homeless.  I think the homeless feel happy and glad to ohave food, drink, and stuff.  I am very lucky.  I have a home and a family.  I feel sorry for them because they don't have a home and a family like me.

On Thanksgiving Day all my relatives and my family go to my Grandma's home and we will celebrate Thanksgiving. Together we bring lots of food like steamed rice, turkey, large noodles, garlic bread, mashed potatoes and gravy, soup, and a big bowl of punch. Colorful rainbow plates of food are set all over the table. It all smells great.  Everybody smiles, and laughs, and feels overwhelmed by all the food. At the party, people will talk and share what's new in their lives such as programs we're taking at school.  I enjoy food.  After cleaning up, we'll watch movies and play games while my Aunt takes pictures.  My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is spending time with my family.  I will definitely sleep well that night.

Acts of Kindness

My assignment is to write about acts of kindness that I witnessed on the playground this week.  However, I could not find anybody doing acts of kindness.  Therefore, I will use my own experience instead. Joey is my friend in my 3rd grade class.  One day someone kicked a soccerball at his face by accident and his nose bled.  I took Joey to the office to get some ice and to wash his face.  Then, I quickly went to get my lunchbox and wait for Joey in the office.  I think he felt a lot better after that.  Then we both went to recess until the bell rang.  I feel great for helping Joey.  He is one of my best friends who never gets in trouble in class.  I am glad I am his friend.

Random Acts of Kindness

This week I saw two acts of kindness.  The first on was when MS picked of LS's water bottle because it fell from her backpack.  I think LS felt grateful for having a friend like MS.  The second act was when RM saw that LS's folder fell out of her backpack so he picked it up and made sure she got it.
